  • Let me tell you a story about how I embarrassed a guy who didn't tip us. It was like a 400 dollar check and he comes up, he puts a big fat zero in the tip line, doesn't leave any cash signs, his name goes on his way. I said it to the side. His friend comes up, his friend is a bartender, I end up learning. His friend comes up and his friend's like, "hey, can I close up my tab?" He tips really well, blah blah blah.
  • The friend who tips zero comes up next to the bartender friend and he's like “hey, I need to close up my check." And I was like, "you already did." And he was like, "no, I didn't..." And I was like, "yes you did." And he was like, “no I didn't." And I though to myself, "you know, what a perfect ***king opportunity." I go, "yes you did. I actually have it set aside right here... Um, I was just wondering if there was anything wrong with the service provided. Just so I can have any notes on how to
  • And his friend goes, "You didn't tip her?!" He goes, "no, I tipped!" And I was like, "no, this is you. So you just signed this two minutes ago, that's your signature and that's your big fat zero." He goes," I left cash!!" I was like, "You did not leave cash. Maybe that was your intention. Totally fine. Either way, like, tips get made up by other people. It all balances out. I'm just wondering if there's anything that we can do as a staff to improve the experience for next time."
  • His friend threw down like $200 bucks cash for me. Then the dude was like, "no, that was a mistake! That was a mistake!" He's crossing up the zero and then he's giving us like a huge ***king tip cause he was so embarrassed. His bartender friend was like, "I am so ***king sorry about him." I was like, "it's really no worry at all." He goes, "I saw what you did. I like it." And he threw another $50 down.

  • Rubicon Driver Non tippers should also be brave enough to tell the server/b artender that they do not tip at the start of their interaction,
  • Sadie Solstice If people have an issue with tipping they should be advocati ng for policy changes so that servers and bartenders are pai d minimum wage, not $2/hour. If the bar/restaurant owners don't HAVE to pay their staff more, they won't. Until then, ti p people
  • ew_hailey I literally stopped seeing a guy because he didn't tip.
